The Orange Bakery
Our Story
2018-2023
The orange bakery started in 2018Â by Al and Kitty Tait. It was never the plan to open a bakery, when Kitty was 14 she started to really struggle with anxiety and depression. At first baking was just a form of therapy but one thing lead to another, a subscription service turned into pop ups then in 2019, Al quit his job as a teacher they crowdfunded and opened a bakery.
Community bakers
2023 onwards
In February 2023Al and Kitty started training up members of the community (who had never really baked before) to become bakers.
The Orange bakery now has a brilliant team of community bakers; Bart, Jess, Vicki, Alice and Jen.
